Perfect location for getting the ferry and delicious food. Highly recommend staying here.

This is really recommended if you want to eat well and are looking for a place to sleep, especially if you come from the ferry. We arrived at the parking lot in the afternoon and someone from the Indian restaurant came to meet us and welcomed us warmly. In the evening we had a delicious meal with very good friendly service. Top!

What a great find. The owner popped out as soon as we drove into the car park and showed us where to park and the welcome was just as warm in the restaurant. The food was outstanding and we had a table right next to the kitchen to see it prepared. They now offer very reasonably priced frozen meals to takeaway too. Location is perfect for the ferry too.

Close to the port of Dover. Some of the best Indian food that I have eaten. Jani is a lovely freindly chap. The welcome was warm and honest. Also dog freindly. Highly recommend the stop.

Absolutely superb stopover. I’m going to use this every time I travel out/into Dover now. Food was outstanding but the icing on the cake was the friendliness of the staff. Ample sized car park & so convenient for the ferry.

Perfecte stop dichtbij de ferries. Vriendelijke eigenaar. We hadden gereserveerd maar dat was nu ín oktober echt niet nodig. Heerlijk (pittig) gegeten en daarna zo de camper in op een gratis parkeerplaats voor de nacht. Wel drukke weg en toilet te gebruiken zolang Mumbai open is.

Great spot only 10 mins from port at this super friendly Indian restaurant, good authentic food. Was able to watch the chef prep food in front of us . A little road noise but calmed down overnight . Free park up if using the restaurant. Very handy if on an early ferry . Would use again.

We hebben hier de laatste nacht voor de veerboot overnacht en heerlijk gegeten. De chef en het personeel waren erg vriendelijk en hulpvaardig. Van de straat hebben we in de nacht geen last gehad. Echt een aanrader!

This is a wonderful place . The Indian food is terrific and fresh and the owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. You can stay in your camper for free if you have a meal. Dogs are welcome and lovely lane opposite pub which we walked down with great views of the countryside.

What an excellent start to our European holiday a night before our crossing. The best curries we've had in the UK, by a country mile. Friendly & welcoming right from the start, incredible food & excellent service. Icing on the cake being the free pitch for the night in their patrons car park (literally 3mins from the ferry). If you want to start your holiday with a culinary orgasm, stop here! :-)

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen! Dadurch kostenlose Übernachtung. Hatten zwar nur 2,5h Schlaf zu überbrücken aber war trotzdem super. Straße war Freitagabend aber relativ viel los und laut. Trotzdem 5 Sterne da perfekte Entfernung zum Hafen ( ca 3 Minuten)

Ein toller Platz zum Schlafen und Essen. Sehr kinderliebe MitarbeiterInnen und tolles Essen. Man kann vom Tisch direkt dem Koch zuschauen. Einfach vor dem Essen Bescheid geben, dass man übernachtet und dann wird das Kennzeichen aufgeschrieben und die Übernachtung geht klar. Lohnt sich sehr!

Das war ein sehr netter Aufenthalt: super Essen, super freundliches Personal und ein super netter Plausch mit dem Inhaber. Es war gegen 9pm Platz für unser 8m Fahrzeug. Die Straße ist leider stark zu hören. Aber einem geschenkten Gaul... Wir kommen wieder.

Guter Platz für eine Übernachtung vor der Fährfahrt von Dover. Gutes indisches Restaurant, Essen lohnt sich doppelt, da man es sehr lecker ist und man dann auch die Kosten für die Übernachtung spart.

Parking przy bardzo ruchliwej ulicy. W nocy bardzo głośno. Jeśli nie zamówisz nic w restauracji (bo przyjedziesz za późno i kuchnia już nie działa) musisz zapłacić 20 funtów. Bardzo dużo. W innych tego typu miejscach nie spotkałam się z opłatą wyższą niż 10 funtów.

Das beste Indische Essen das wir je hatten. Der Schlafplatz etwas laut, aber man fühlt sich sicher und es waren mehrere Camper vor Ort. Der Parkplatz ist etwas eng, aber für die Überfahrt ausreichend.

Om 17.30u toegekomen op de parking van Chef de Mumbai.We mochten staan waar we wilden.Grote parking die beetje afhelt.Ik had voor de zekerheid op voorhand een tafel gereserveerd.Het eten is ongelofelijk lekker,een van de betere Indische restaurants,en het personeel super vriendelijk.De baas kwam praatje slaan en we kregen van hem een ‘parking pass’ zodanig dat we zeker niet gestoord zouden worden.

Wir haben einen Tisch reserviert und sind um ca. 18:00 angekommen. Einen Platz für den Camper haben wir nicht reserviert. Es hatte schon einige Fahrzeuge und als wir nach dem Essen (sehr lecker) raus kamen war der Platz voll, die meisten blieben aber nicht über Nacht. Es war nicht sehr ruhig aber es ging.

Haben telefonisch heute Mittag reserviert und dies ist dringend zu empfehlen. Um 06:00pm erreicht und es waren bereits fünf Camper da. Das Essen ist geschmacklich sehr gut und von guter Qualität. Alle sind zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. . Meine Empfehlung

We arrived at the spot around 11 pm. We rang the owner of the restaurant on our way and they actually waited up at the door for us to arrive, we felt very safe which is very important so we would recommend

Good spot just a few minutes from the ferry terminal. Free overnight parking if you eat in the restaurant. Authentic Indian food at reasonable prices. Loses a star because the place is a bit shabby but it's now under new ownership and this may change.

Parkplatz am Restaurant . Haben hier sehr, sehr lecker indisch gegessen und somit ist die Übernachtung frei. Das Personal ist sehr nett. die angrenzende Straße ist etwas lauter aber die Entfernung zur Fähre dafür Ideal.

Großzügiger Parkplatz, auf dem man über Nacht stehen darf, wenn man im Restaurant einkehrt. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich, das Essen ist köstlich und Sonderwünsche, die nicht auf der Karte stehen, wurden auch umgesetzt.

Nqchdem ich per Mail einen Tisch reserviert, und erwähnt hatte wir würden gerne auch übernachten, habe ich ein nette Antwort bekommen, dass man sich auf uns freue. Das Personal war super freundlich, das Essen hervorragenden und der Stellplatz toll für eine Fährüberfahrt am nächsten Morgen. Wir kommen sicher wieder !

I don’t understand the rave reviews for the food. We found the food just average here — maybe we are spoiled with our excellent local Indian restaurants! The welcome was very warm though. There was a storm the night we stayed so we had to move closer to the building to get some shelter.

The location is great for a ferry (and the pitch fairly flat) but otherwise lacks charm. However, that's not why I'll go back. I'll go back for the professional and friendly welcome from Jani and his team. And the lamb dish I had was one of the best Indian meals I've had - and I've eaten over 2000.

Superb location for excellent food and hospitality. Would highly recommend especially as they are so close the ferry. We are now regulars.

Very enjoyable meal. They reproduce the hospitality of India. Having been to Mumbai a few times it was nice to share memories of our stay there. Very friendly couple. The food was authentic and delicious. We stayed the night. 6 mins from the port. Definitely recommend this welcoming haven.

Jani & his wife, Supriya (and the whole team) were so polite, attentive & welcoming.The food was by far the best Indian we have tasted (we eat a lot of curries) : superb flavour, colour, texture, spices & presentation! Der Chef und alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Mit Abstand das beste indische Essen, das ich je gegessen habe. Zu guter letzt durften wir auch noch in unserem Van auf dem Parkplatz übernachten um am nächsten morgen die Fähre (5 Minuten entfernt) nehmen zu können. Absolute Empfehlung!

A great stop over, perfect for the port of dover. loads of parking space for a 7.5m motorhome. Free to stay as long as you eat in the restaurant which is a no brainier. Chef de Mumbai, a truly authentic Indian restaurant, preparing traditionally cooked meals each with their own taste and look. The staff are lovely and really looked after us. We left feeling full and at under £90 great value too

We are stopping here in our motorhome before we get the ferry early in the morning. This is the perfect place to start your holiday. Such genuinely lovely and welcoming people, and the food is amazing. The chef knows how to blend spices, fresh herbs, and ingredients. This really is a gem of a place. Fantastic value for the quality of the food and service.

Wir haben an diesem Platz unsere Nacht vor der Fähre verbracht und haben uns abends, als auch nachts sicher und wohl gefühlt. Um dort stehen zu können, haben wir abends im Chef de Mumbai gegessen. Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben sich über unseren Besuch gefreut. Wir können den Platz auf jeden Fall empfehlen!

Als je blijft eten krijg je een parkeerkaart dat je die nacht gratis mag blijven staan. Het eten is fantastisch en de mensen zijn heel vriendelijk! Prima parkeerplaats om te staan. wel wat geluid van de weg die er langs loopt. Als je zoals ons vroeg bij de boor moet zijn, is dit een prima plek om te overnachten.

Chef de Mumbai is brilliant - literally 5 minutes from the ferry, free parking if you have food. Car park fine for less than 6m motorhomes, bit of a squeeze for caravans and anything longer. The team are so friendly and welcoming and the food is really excellent - the best Indian food we've had in the UK without doubt. In particular the vegetarian options are really good and lots of choice.

Das Lokal heißt nun Chef Mumbay und ist wieder offen. Der Übernachtungsplatz ist bei Verzehr kostenlos. Das Essen ist wirklich klasse. Lecker. Leider ist das Bier mit 7.40£ sehr teuer. Trotzdem eine Empfehlung. 7 Minuten zur Fähre. Gut, man hört etwas Straßenlärm, aber nicht schlimm. Man bekommt im Restaurant eine Park Free Karte auf der man das Kennzeichen einträgt und hinter die Scheibe legt.

Das Indische Restaurant bietet leckere Speisen. Das Personal ist freundlich. In der Nacht ist der Straßenlärm zu hören. Dafür ist man am nächsten Morgen schnell an der Fähre. Gerne wieder. Die Übernachtung wurde mit dem Essen verrechnet. Wir haben eine Parkkarte bekommen.

Se agradecen este tipo de sitios en los que te dejan pernoctar si consumes algo en su restaurante (aunque si no hubiéramos cenado, creo que nadie nos hubiera dicho nada). La comida india, muy sabrosa. Si es fin de semana, mejor reservar mesa. Aunque se escuchan los coches de la carretera, es un sitio tranquilo y perfecto para coger el ferry por la mañana.

Sehr freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung im Restaurant, das Essen war ausgezeichnet und es war eine Freude dem Naanbrotbäcker zuzuschauen. Stellplatz ok, der kurze Weg zur Fähre perfekt, Strassengeräusche kann man verschmerzen.

Das indische Essen und der Service waren fantastisch! Wir blieben anschließend kostenlos mit unserem Camper über Nacht, um am nächsten Morgen die Fähre nach Frankreich zu nehmen. Kein Problem also, wenn man an der gut ausgestatteten Bar versackt!

I stayed here in Dec 2022 with the old owners, the kitchen had closed a few minutes before my arrival and I was refused food, after a 300 mile drive I was a little miffed. Under the new ownership, it's the same deal, but I was told by the boss that opening times have improved and even if the kitchen was closed that I would not be left hungry. Superb food, staff and 2 mins from the ferry.

We had a delicious dinner the evening before we had to leave for the ferry. The staff is very welcoming and you can stay over night at their car park for free if you eat at the restaurant. We would definitely come back!

Excellent place to stay for a night. Very close to the white cliffs and excellent food. Free if you eat in the restaurant and would highly recommend. The food is delicious and authentic. Staff are super friendly and the new owner is great. Slightly sloped but not that bad in some spots. Saw someone try to stay without paying or eating, not cool, don’t be rude. Just go and have a nice meal!

Wir standen eine Nacht hier um auf die Fähre zu warten. Bis dort hin sind es nur ca 20 Minuten. Das Essen im Restaurant war super lecker und das Restaurant war um 18h voll. Um einen Parkplatz zu bekommen evlt vorher anreisen. Je nachdem wo man steht, ist es gerade. Leider dürfen Hunde nicht mit ins Restaurant.

Sind gerade mit der Fähre angekommen und wurden hier im Chef de Mumbai (neuer Name) sehr freundlich begrüsst. Super Essen und wirklich sehr nette und aufmerksame Wirtsleute. Parkplatz beim Restaurant bietet genug Platz. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Ein Parkplatz an der Straße, direkt vor dem indischen Restaurant. Die Lautstärke des Verkehrs ist OK. Frei bei Restaurantbesuch, sonst 20 GBP. Die Toiletten im Restaurant können bis 22:00, dann erst wieder ab 8:00 Uhr benutzt werden. Das Essen lohnt sich. 10min bis zur Fähre, 10min bis zum nahegelegenen Lidl.

Gutes Essen und freundlicher Service. Kein Problem über Nacht zu stehen. Die Straße war von 23:00-5:00 Uhr ruhig. Innerhalb weniger Minuten am Fährhafen.

Actually not bad at all quite night, low traffic noise. We ate in the restaurant last night, food was good, aceptable Indian food. 4 star as it has no support facilities but would use again.

Weird one. Obviously convenient for getting early morning ferry; however, not such a pleasant stay for us on a Monday night. We tried calling ahead to speak with the owner twice during the day, but no answer. We decided to stay anyway. The road noise is noticeble and there there was exceptionally load music from around 21:50 to 22:30. Didn't feel so inviting.

Das Restaurant hat Sonntag und Montag geschlossen. Es gibt dann keinen Ansprechpartner. Die Person, die wir angetroffen haben, wusste von nichts. Wir konnten dann bleiben, die 20 Pfund wurden dankbar angenommen. Die Nacht war - nach anfänglicher indischer Musik- ruhig. Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für die Fähre.

Leckeres Essen und mit Keilen bekommt man den Wagen auch in die Waage. Die Straße ist recht befahren und hört man natürlich auch, deshalb keine fünf Sterne. Für eine Nacht aber absolut empfehlenswert. Wir werden auf der Rückfahrt erneut hier halten.

Nous y avons passé la nuit, arrivé a 1h du matin et reparti avant l'ouverture du restaurant, il y avait déjà un camping-car. C'est un parking de restaurant, Je ne pense pas que ce soit leur but d'accueillir des camping-car mais personne ne nous à rien dit. Sur la marina, c'est plus approprié mais c'était plein. Merci au propriétaire.

Super pratique pour une nuit avant de prendre le ferry. Route très fréquentée jusque vers minuit, puis dès 05h00 du matin. Si vous mangez au restaurant, la nuit est gratuite. Les plats sont succulents et l'accueil parfait. Il vaut mieux réserver. Annoncez-vous avec votre camping-car et le personnel vous donnera une autorisation de parcage pour la nuit.

Unglaublich leckeres Essen. leider keine Hunde im Restaurant erlaubt, allerdings kein Problem wenn man die Vierbeiner im Camper lässt und mit ihnen auf dem Parkplatz oder umliegenden Feldern herumläuft. Zwischen 22.00 und 7.00 Uhr ist die Straße auch ruhig. Für eine Nacht mehr als ok.

Wir haben zuerst gefragt, wenn wir essen ob wir heute Nacht hier stehenbleibt können... Ja kein Problem! So können wir dann morgen früh zur Fähre fahren, die uns um 8:00 Uhr nach Dünkirchen bringt.
