We ended up here in desperation as we'd tried another parkup, but it wasn't for us. We arrived in the dark, parked. Paid £7.50 for the night, no services at all. EE signal strong. Of note, you have to be off by 9am!!! Quiet night, not disturbed, river Dee noisy, but we were on top of it, and who doesn't like the sound of a raging river!? Aldi 5 min up the road, Llangollen is a top little town.
Reasonable place for a stop over when on the route on A5. Stayed a few times before. Flat car park over looking the river. Toilets were shut which was a shame. The parking app was a bit of challenging.
arrived around 3ish & after 20mins of trying to pay - realised that you can’t park there before 5 unless you are using TNR outdoors.(pay by phone & zero signal there) To avoid a parking charge (we hope) we went into TNR & had pizza & drinks- prices very reasonable! we popped our VRM into the machine next to the till.At 5pm we then paid the fee for stay 16hours. Outdoor toilets closed. Quiet stay
Not a bad stop over ruined by two weeks later received a £100 fine for parking 12 mins over the 16 hours for £7 parking fee. Spent money in the hotel bar down the road & in the canal side cafe but won’t be staying in Llangollen again as there are other. Those that allow paid parking overnight need to see which side their bread is buttered & whether they help or hinder the local towns.
Just stopped here on our way to Bala Lake, nice quite park up, with a few Moho’s and camper vans.
