Be aware that since 2017 wild camping is illegal in Iceland. Motorised travellers need to go to a campground. It doesn´t matter if there are signs or not; Icelandic law does not permit camping outisde of camping grounds for caravans, campervans, mobile homes, car tents, and motorised tent users.
