Lovely quite flat parking spaces by the river harbour, good facilities, parking paid by debit card, need waterways card for power, showers and toilets, got my card at O’Mears Suprtvalue in the town. Note easier park at the back of the super value if shopping or picking up card. parked by the Harbour for 1 night. Lovely walk in the forest in the morning. It was November so plenty of space.
Well developed and clean sites right next to the marina. You do need to drive all the way to the end of the road to reach the sites - don’t drive into area with a few caravans and risk getting bogged (as we did!). Required a waterway card to operate shower - but not toilet. Nearby castle closed by November but able to explore old priory and take a leisurely walk into town. Beautiful start to day.
Lovely spot with good facilities. Brought a waterways card at SupaU. Had a lovely walk round the castle that also has excellent tea rooms.
pas la carte watersway donc pas de wc ni douche. ne payez pas phone, vous serez debité de 10€ mais pas de ticket , un gentil écossais a payé pour moi par carte et je l’ai remboursé en espaces. eau claire , vidages rare sur l’île et poubelles tous les soir à 20h00 par Mr qui passe de CC en CC. ce site est incroyable apres galway ou le refoulement des camping car est systématique pour la nuit. bravo
Absolute gem!! €10 per night. Flat, level spots with a stunning lake view. Electricity available with a Waterways Ireland card. Walk to the castle in a few minutes, 15 min to the village. Gets busy, so best to arrive early. Definitely one of our favorite stops in Ireland far, we’ll be back.
One toilet stall and it was dirty with no paper or soap and a line out the door.

This is a gem! Quiet, spotless, safe & friendly. There’s an amazing swimming spot 600meters on the blue way right next to the busy marina. Lots of activity watching the boats coming & going.We walked the grounds surrounding us. We visited the Abbey,Portumna castle & tea rooms. Waterways ire card to access the showers. There were no motorhome spots available but we got permission to park at the wall.

Very nice spot with walking and cycling trails. My 9 year old son got stuck in the mens toilet as the lock was dodgy. Other than that we had a lovely time. we will be back.

Excellent facilities, as demonstrated by the fact that the site was full on a Sat in Feb, about 20 motorhomes. Helpful maintenance guy takes rubbish at least twice a day. Showers are hot and allow plenty of time. Warm water in gents toilet. Many water taps and electricity and a toilet disposal area. Use card for shower and electricity only. Great location next to the forest, 20 mins walk to town
Très bien. Tous les services. Pour accéder à l'électricité, il faut acheter une carte spéciale dans le supermarché du coin... il faut le savoir avant d'arriver..les emplacements sont bien délimités et plats. Je recommande !
Excellent facility, 10 mins to the town, nice cafes friendly people. Well done to the the Waterways board for the facility and thank you to the Local council for picking up the rubbish twice daily even on a Sunday.
Arrived 7pm Friday, packed!! We parked on boat side of marina and hooked up to electric there. As recommended here we stopped at the Supervalu store in the town en route and picked up the Waterways card to pay for electric and showers. Toilets and showers immaculate. Lovely spot with loads to do. Would definitely return.

Strom-Terminal umständlich zu bedienen. Wifi nicht verfügbar. Nur je 1 Toilette vorhanden; nicht sauber; Gute Lage zw. West- und Ostküste, ruhig, schöner Blick

Très bel emplacement au bord du lac. Mais bondé. Nous avons attendu un peu mais impossible d'avoir une place. Nous étions pourtant arrivé vers 13h30. Plusieurs camping car attendaient.
Fantastic value for 10 Euro per night. The night is shared by motorhomers and boaters, so great craic. The town is 10 minutes walk away, with enough pubs and restaurants for anybody. The castle is well worth a visit, as are the abbey ruins. There is a lifeguard patrolled beach on the lake a short walk to the east.

Great facilities from Waterways Ireland. Aire was full when we arrived, but a few vehicles were parked by the Abbey ruins, so we paid our €10 and parked there for the night. Stunning spot.

Great stop within walking distance to the town and situated within the castle grounds. Pitches get filled very quickly so arrive early afternoon if you need EHU.
Aire sympathique avec vidanges et remplissage, à côté du lac. 10€ la nuit sans électricité. Beau parc où s'y promener. Bourg à environ 10 mn de marche et un SuperValu avec machines à laver le linge à l'extérieur. Sinon ville sans grand intérêt. Merci aux camping-caristes irlandais, musiciens et chanteurs pour leur animation au milieu de l'aire le 12/06. Belle surprise.

Excellent location, perfect for dog walks and peace. 10 euro for 24hrs. Didn’t use the showers, toilets weren’t the best….. warden came each evening and morning to take any rubbish as no bins. Chemical toilet and fresh water free to use.
Fabulous location, with great services as described. We didn’t use the showers or loo but they looked nice and clean. Best part of our stay was the warden came around in the morning and took our general waste away. This is such a bonus as waste is so difficult to get rid of here.

Great spot for Campervan stopover. €10 per night. Waterways 10 unit card from local SuperValu was €6.50. Would definitely recommend this stop as plenty places to walk or enjoy the local wildlife.
Arrived this evening, all spots taken up. Council allowed us and many others to park in car spots facing marina once we paid & displayed €10 ticket.
This little Jen we found by chance would recommend to any body very clean and quite ideal spot with great views and great services
Platz 1 der SP auf unserer Reise: Toller und ruhiger Platz mit allem was es braucht, wenn man mit dem Wohnmobil unterwegs ist. Mit 10 Euro/24h der günstigste auf unserer Reise. Duschen und WC sind ok. However, the public toilets are consistently very dirty and are not cleaned by anyone. Real shame for this place.
Fine purpose-built aire at the lakeside marina where the Shannon flows into Lough Derg. All 18 spaces have electrical hook ups, very economical with the Waterways Ireland card. Toilet block open 24/7 with showers at 2 units from same card. Council does door to door rubbish collection for free! Lots of walking walks in huge forest nearby. Portumna Castle and Workhouse Museum recommended.

Brilliant aires, wc, showers and electric with waterways ireland card available from SuperValu in town. €10 pay by card for 24hrs, council worker lifts bags of rubbish morning and evening. 15 min walk to SuperValu, 10 min walk to entrance - play park at library. Aldi just outside town.
Clean and functional services, quiet place to sleep, electricity towers available for all the vehicles. A shower costs 2 units of your Waterways card (no time limit), toilets instead are free. 10€ per night is super fair! Highly recommended

Super Ort zum übernachten. Das Parkticket für 10 Euro kann am Ticketautomaten gelöst werden. Die Prepaidkarte muss aber vorher im Super Valu gekauft werden. Für eine oder zwei Nächte hätte mir (mit Campervan) eine Karte mit 10 Credits locker gereicht (habe eine mit 20 gekauft...) da man nur für Elektrizität und Duschen bezahlen muss. Toiletten sind Tagsüber kostenlos.
This is our second visit here lovely, clean Motorhome Aire with hot showers, grey and black waste facilities. Site owned by Irish waterways Ireland who maintain it and bin waste is collected each day by a friendly man who knocks on your door to request your rubbish if you have any. We purchased a Irish water ways card at Super value shop 20units to use showers. Electricity on site.
Stayed here Saturday 04th and Sunday 05th of February. Great location, lovely walks into Portumna Forrest. EHU with waterways card. Very reasonable. Drinking water, grey water and black water facilities. It was full all weekend.
Wirklich schöner Parkplatz gleich beim Castle. Direkt am Hafen mit Toiletten und Duschen.

toller Platz. der bezahl automat für die Platzgebühr war außerbetrieb. Für Strom und das Duschen wird eine aufgeladene Karte benötigt. Diese gibt es aber beim supervalu im Ort. Die Toiletten sind öffentlich und etwas verdreckt.
Great overnight stop with lots of facilities, some free and some paid for. Parking right on the marina with lovely views. Very busy when we arrived and all electric hookup points/camper spaces taken. However, we parked in normal space (as did others) which didn’t seem to be a problem. Great walks from the sight with the castle and friary ruins to explore.

We stopped for one night everything you need. Town a short walk where you can get the cards for electricity. Woods adjacent where we cycled.
Excellent stop over. Nice walk in woods, park beside marina. For 10€ a night great value. you can get rid of grey water, toilet and get fresh water, plug in is extra. Town only 5 min walk away. Would def return. :) got the Waterways card at Super Value the Boathouse, don't do them any more
nous avons utilisé les services pour camper (eau potable, vidange d'eau grise et noires). par contre, un samedi 16h00, toutes les places de stationnement étaient occupées. les douches et lea toilettes sont utilisables avec une carte pré-payée
Un lieu de repos formidable sur l'emprise d'un domaine. Des gens sympa, des promenades à faire, château à visiter, ainsi que les ruines d'un couvent et de son église, bien protégées. Un village pour se réapprovisionner. 2 nuits reposantes. Un employé vient récupérer vos sacs poubelles. Il ne prend pas le recyclable (containers à l'entrée du domaine). Stationnement à payer sur les bornes par CB.

Ein von der Stadt extra für Camper erstellter Platz an einem kleinen Hafen mit vielen Enten für 10€/24 Std. Sehr sauber und ruhig. Frisch-, Grau- und Schwarzwasser sowie Toiletten kostenlos. Strom und Dusche über eine Servicekarte (im SuperValue in der Nähe erhältlich). 10 Units kosten 6,35€. Die Dusche benötigt 2 Units und für 2kW Strom 1 Unit. Uns hat die 10er Karte für eine Nacht gereicht.

Great area, lovely walks right next to a forest, close to town and shops, Castle and land not dog friendly, €10 to park is paid on ticket machine with card or cash, then a token card can be purchased from the supavalve shop up the road (5 min walk), this can be used for electric, emptying toilet and showers, although we don't recommend the showers. some people arriving late in the evening.
Lovely place for €10 electricity extra. Check out Blas cafe in town it allows dogs indoors
Excellent spot to stay, level pitches lovely views a castle with tea rooms nice walks, only 10minutes (approx) walk to shops pubs restaurants etc ONLY bad thing is the distance between vans it's less than 1 meter
A lovely place to stay. We stayed two nights. So quiet. Great facilities. A council man arrived at approximately 7pm and asked did we have any rubbish to get rid of. We hope to return to here.
Great facility for the price. this makes it very popular. the regulations state (large blue sign on right at entry) motorhomes greater than 6.5m are not permitted and the maximum stay is 48 hours. However, this does not appear to be monitored judging by the amount of 7m plus vans on site and the amount of days they stayed!
Absolutely fabulous facility. I wish there could be more like this around Ireland! So clean, right on the water and access to facilities with a Waterways card. Absolute credit! Perfect place to a stop over
Lovely location. Plus a Huge Forest with lots of Tracks and Trails and Recreation swimming close by.
Even in October this is a great place to stay. Nowhere near as buy as the manic months so making it all the more enjoyable. Walks in the castle grounds and there’s a nice restaurant in there as well. The town has plenty of independent shops, including a SuperValu and an Aldi.

Preciosa area con posibilidad de salir en kayak, bicicleta, pasear por el bosque.... esta junto al canal y hay wc, duchas, electricidad, vaciado..... Preciosa y muy bien cuidada. Para ducharte tienes que comprar la tarjeta en el super del pueblo donde tambien hay labanderia. 10€ 24h
Super endroit, belle surprise. C’est propre, environnement sympa, village à cinq minutes à pied. Idéal pour faire une étape.
Magnifique aire, une des rares du pays, avec tous les services, hélas squattée ce jour par des caravanes de gens de voyage... ça ne va pas les encourager à en créer d'autres ! Nous avons fait les services et sommes repartis, dommage ...
Super ! Le stationnement est gratuit, pour cette année au moins nous dit-on. L'eau est gratuite. Des travaux sont en cours pour créer une évacuation des eaux grises, en attendant c'est au seau dans les grilles devant les emplacements. D'ailleurs, préférer se garer sur les places à l'écart de ces grilles (ça sent). Pour l'électricité et les douches, c'est un système de carte à acheter au SuperValu (10 ou 50 points, qui marcherait dans plusieurs sites d'Irlande) Pour les eaux noires, c'est une plaque près des toilettes hommes avec rinçage à l'eau non potable au robinet situé derrière les travaux pour l'évacuation des eaux grises.
Bel environnement. Balades et château. Les douches seraient payantes en sus. WC fermés la nuit, hyper clean. Pas de poubelle. Dommage
