handy spot, far enough from motorway to be quiet. northern most part of site much nicer but more exposed if wind/weather bad.
Grande aire de repos à côté de l'ancien hôtel RedMoss, pas non plus une ferme de la M74, j'ai passé la nuit pendant le voyage vers le nord, calme pendant la nuit et le week-end, utilisée comme aire de stationnement pour poids lourds la semaine
Big layby next to the old RedMoss Hotel, not farm from the M74 either, stayed for an overnight break in the journey north, quiet during the night and weekend , used as a HGV parking area in the week
Großer Rastplatz neben dem alten RedMoss Hotel, auch kein Bauernhof an der M74, hier wurde auf der Fahrt nach Norden eine Übernachtungspause eingelegt, nachts und am Wochenende ruhig, unter der Woche als LKW-Parkplatz genutzt
Gran área de descanso al lado del antiguo hotel RedMoss, que tampoco es una granja junto a la M74, donde se pasa la noche en el viaje hacia el norte, es tranquilo durante la noche y los fines de semana y se utiliza como área de descanso para los pesos pesados durante la semana.

MattDV06/03/2025Thank goodness for this stop, just when I needed to sleep. Not the prettiest place but it’s fine for an overnighter. Lots of lorries here but it’s also pretty quiet.
Sleekpony08/08/2024Not ideal but we did stay because it was our third choice and time was getting late. On the positive there's lots of space and it's level. On the negative it's covered in litter, feels dirty and there is a strong smell on landfill if you open the windows.

Too much litter for me, very depressing. Found nicer spot nearer A74(M) and added it to P4N

We stayed on a Saturday night; there was one other campervan present (which was reassuring, as this is a lonely spot). The layby is next to a now derelict Hotel and truckstop. You are about 20m off the main road, but there was very little traffic. Update 25/09/24. On a weekday the layby was full of HGVs. We only just squeezed in. Nasty smell from nearby landfill too.

Excellent overnight stopping place. Large layby, a few vehicles pass overnight but really a quiet spot. Space for several, we shared with a lorry. Rural but great access to M74.
