Stayed last night. A few cars parked up till late. Parking pretty level towards farm shop. Do turn round before bedding down for the night as it gets very busy in the mornings. Good walk up to Monument, lots of steps! Short but steep. There is road noise, but the earplugs worked for that.
Liked this spot….. a lot. I’ll be returning at some point in the future. I found it quiet at night, busy in the morning but I think most visiting the Penshaw farm shop nearby which offers a nursery, butchers, bakery and tea room. I walked up to the monument that welcomes walkers and those with dogs but not cycles (you wouldn’t anyway) nor drones. Be warned, the walk to the monument is steep.
