I arrived early in the morning to visit the castle and the car park was empty, by 10am when the cafe opened though it was full and it would be tricky getting a large vehicle in and out of the space. Beautiful location though. No matter where you park in and around Lossiemouth you will be impacted by the RAF take offs, it’s a large base and the jets are impressive!
A lovely quiet spot, no gate on entrance, But after dark, fighter jets taking off a few hundred yards away and were so close it made the floor shake. Maybe a dozen take-offs between 7pm-10.30pm early Oct 2025. 2 visits by probably security men but no approach. In the morning for less than half a sec of a page with Lossiemouth written at the top flashed before my home page - watching my phone?
Lovely Peaceful spot, dog walkers and castle visitors but don't cause any issue. Only thing you need to be aware of is the RAF and take offs from Lossiemouth. Coffee shack looks good but doesn't open until 10am so didn't get chance to use

Inzwischen steht dort ein Tor: mir wurde gesagt, dass es Nachts abgeschlossen wird. Dies wäre zwar nicht immer, aber meistens der Fall (Versicherungsgründe etc.) habe mich dann neu orientiert. Das Café ist natürlich trotzdem empfehlenswert.
Didn’t stay overnight but a visit to the castle was spectacular! The cafe is lovely too
Had a pleasant stay. Beary interesting castle ruin, free of charge. Small parking, flat, paved next to a food track with outdoor tables. Cellphone service good. Only me here when visited.
The site itself is excellent. Unfortunately visitors arrived until 11.30pm - coming and going. Did not disturb me, but seemed a meeting place as cars arrived and left at similar times. At 4.30am a young couple arrived blasting music louder and louder in an attempt to wake me and move me on. Unpleasant night.

Had a great overnight stop here. Very quiet apart from a few jets and a light aircraft! No other vans but a few dog walkers in the evening and early morning. Coffee van opens at 10 - very good. Can recommend it.
Flat tarmac car park for 6-8 vehicles depending on sizes. Great phone signal on EE, there’s a cafe pod which is open Thurs - Sun. Spectacular views of the castle ruins which you can walk round for free. Only thing to bear in mind, it’s right near the RAF base, so had a lot of really loud planes up till 8pm then again from 8am. But for an overnight it’s perfect and would defo come again
