(SK11) Macclesfield - Redesmere Lane

Lovely spot to overnight with great views of the bird filled lake. Also nice walks around.

Level side of the road parking in busy parking area right beside lake. We had to park longways on our 6.5M which I don’t think would be doable in high season as this place obviously gets very busy. Lovely views over the lake. No bins. Very quiet overnight but busy and load with passing traffic from early morning .

Brilliant spot - please bring a bag of duck/bird food to thank your entertaining hosts.

what a spot, you wont find much better

Nous avons dormi une nuit en camping car, Facile pour se garer, il y avait 3 autres van/camping cars. Très jolie vue sur le lac et pas de signes interdisant le stationnement de nuit. Il y a des véhicules qui s'arrêtent la nuit parfois avec le moteur qui tourne quelques temps donc un peu de bruit et pas totalement sécurisant.

This is still a nice quiet spot, level hard surface, view the mere, lots of noisy birds.

Noisy birds lol but as I was parked in their front garden I'll let them off. lol. Good park up. lots of room. Good nights sleep. no bother. would stay again if in area.

Very quiet and pleasant. Just off the main road. Easy access. Lovely views up the lake. Obviously no services. Parking for 3 or 4 vans on a lvel tarmac surface alongside the lake under the trees

Lovely quiet place, definitely worth a night of two.

The neighbours of ducks, geese etc are awake as soon as it gets light so take some ear plugs! There was also movement of cars from about 0530-0600. Nice location but can also hear noise of A34 if you sleep in a pop top like we do. Was fine for a night and we weren’t disturbed by others.

Absolutely beautiful place . We stayed here the last couple of nights . Bit busy with traffic/mainly tractors through the day but in the night it's super quiet .... beautiful Lake Signal was brilliant ..hitting 30-40mbps on EE No toilets or bins let's hope this stunning place stays like this as many places we've found are being ruined by overnight campers with no respect ..

Really nice peaceful night, few other motorhomes, great views across lake. Very quiet during night. Only 12 miles from my house and great to get my kids confidence up.

Flat under trees not so level elsewhere. Vodafone and EE excellent signal. Really quiet nice spot.

So pretty! We spent one night and tried to be as respectful as possible to the fact that many (mostly old)people go there to rest and watch ducks. Serene and calm. But a lot of insects at night so don’t let them in :)

arrived later on in the night time, loads of room along this lay by and lovely tranquil setting. the birds/geese were noisy in the early hours but I loved it. Great outlook when we woke up but I felt we were a bit in the middle of it all, as families arrived to feed the ducks and a few bikes turned up for goodies off the catering trailer that turned up in the morning.park away from the seating

Spent the evening at this location for our first camp. Nice,quiet location, peaceful. Lovely for the dog and the sound of the birds throughout the evening. Also plenty of room (seems like it’s on a though road but there was little to no traffic)

Plenty of room for lots of vans, birds were noisy as others have said, stayed here on a week night and it was empty except for us.

Seems like a quiet spot, lots of ducks and geese some of which are frozen in the lake! Ok signal. Couple of cars parked with people admiring the view. Hoping for a quiet night!

Stayed here a few times and never had any issues. Normally a camper or 2 here on weekend evenings. Lovely spot to stay but the ducks and geese can get a bit noisy in the morning so be prepared!

Stayed here on Saturday night. Two other vans were already parked up when we arrived (quite late) but lots of room. Woke up to noisy ducks and gulls! Beautiful spot. A breakfast van was also there when we got up!

Netter Parkplatz, anfangs war es noch ganz lustig mit den Enten und Gänsen, aber es kommen im minutentakt Autos mit Familien, Leuten die die Tiere füttern und dann ist das Geschnatter und Geschrei sehr laut, wir hatten vor die Nacht dort zu verbringen, aber nach zwei Stunden Geschnatter sind wir dann weiter gefahren! Mag sein dass es nachts leiser ist, aber nicht für ein Mittagsschlaf geeignet ;)

Stayed one night, another two vans present. Quiet, reasonably clean, lovely lakeside location. Breakfast trailer there Sunday morning!

Beautiful spot next to the mere. We watched the sunset surrounded by geese, ducks and a lone swan, all pretty friendly. A quiet road, we stayed a Friday night, 4 other vans, plenty of space, no bother. patchy phone and TV but too beautiful a spot to be a worry

Beautiful park up. We stayed here on a Sunday night and we’re the only ones in a van. Couple of cars parked up along the lane but no noise or disturbance.

Beautiful spot. Not a sound during the night. Locals are friendly and geese can be vocal, but this place is perfect for an overnight stay. No services but 10 mins drive to nearest shop.

Très bien. Bien plat, goudronné, au bord de l’eau. Attention aux canards quand on se gare la nuit. Du passage à partir de 7h : riverains, pêcheurs et promeneurs de chiens.

Arrived Sunday night. Only us. Very windy and rain. Not sure what this place would be like on a Friday or Saturday night in the summer, but superb tonight. No facilities. Wide parking area off road. Noisy if you don't care for ducks, geese, coots etc calling, but the most beautiful place to wake up. Views over the lake, and seating like a seaside promenade.

Arrived just before sunset. Calm, quiet and peaceful spot. Woken up by a local tooting their horn at 9am but stayed all day. The ducks and geese were very entertaining to watch whilst cooking. No boy racers in sight. Will stay there again.

Great location was quite was boy racer meet was finished. Recommend it though. Beautiful view in the morning and plenty of ducks and geese for company .

Decided to try this stop over not sorry was a bit dubious at first but we had a 1 night stop with no problems it was peaceful just the ducks and swans for company. Woke up to a view over the lake. Only downside was the rain but that's England! No one bothered us at all. We are always quiet and unobtrusive when parking over night in our VW I think that helps.
