() Leysdown-on-Sea - Shellness Road

Felt safe as a single woman. Approx 6 vans parked up … I imagine it’s very popular in season. Lovely walks. Shell beach. Don’t expect tea rooms or cafes to be open out of season … Absolutely nothing in walking distance except a pub. Not a lot on Sheppey but the park up was great if all you’re looking for is a bit of peace and quiet, a view, and the sound of the sea.

Major changes here from early March 2022. They've marked car parking bays and are installing benches in the old parking area to stop motorhomes etc parking here. Work still in progress but I was moved on this morning so they could fit the bench foundations. Has been a favourite haunt of mine but looks like the changes will mess that up.

Fantastic views, huge space, expect to share with multiple other campers. Phone signal on O2 was patchy, and the area also seemed to be home to the last remaining boy racers, but they soon disappeared. It’s a popular fishing spot so expect to hear them come and go throughout the night.

absolutely fantastic right next to the beach. peaceful with stunning veiws no fast traffic as the road doesn't really lead anywere. Nice walks around the coast. Will definatly go back again

Wonderful spot. We spent two glorious days here with other camper vans too. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Really surprised by this place, just lovely. Lots of "no overnight parking" signs that have had the "no" scrubbed out. A dozen campers there. Locals lads turned up in the middle of the night, blasting music. I went out and politely asked them to turn it down a bit - they said sorry and turned it off completely! Beach is huge and wild.

Lovely stay here unfortunately council came round in morning and issued anti social behaviour crime and policing act 2014 notice

About as near to the beach as you can get without actually being on it. However, was awakened at 3am by the sound of someone trying to saw through the lock on our bikes so, although they ran off empty handed, felt like we had to leave and park elsewhere in the middle of the night. Shame.

Beautiful sunset/rise here. safe mostly quiet. dog walkers, fishermen and campervans. right on the sea. spent a night here no problems. no visible signs saying no overnight parking.

Great bakery and chippy in town 10 minutes walk big grassy area for dogs to run about. Highley recommendable

Fantastic spot to watch the sunrise. Lots of campervans parked for the night. Fairly quite apart from the occasional vehicle passing by and spray/splash at high tide depending on where you are parked. Look for puddles on ground to identify spots that get splashed.

Nice place, stayed one night. Campervans around, felt safe. Will definitely use this spot in future as well.

Absolutely loved it here. Felt very safe, even on my own. There was a beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning too

Next to the sea, great views and Reasonably calm at night, having in mind that it is next to a not very busy road.

Jolie vue sur la mer, malheureusement on ne peut plus y passer la nuit. Il est écrit « No Overnight » de loin en loin sur le mur qui longe le parking.

Fantastic parking area for naturists. just 1 mile further along the road is the large naturist beach, which is a mixture of shell beach and sand dunes. if driving to the naturist beach, the road becomes an unmade road and max of 5mph is advised. plenty of free parking at the naturist beach. I spend the night at the free parking area and travel to the beach in the morning. This is a gem of a place

Agréable en bord de mer.

Nice spot on the water. Plenty of space. Nearest cafe and pub were closed. Pub doesn't seem to open weekdays at all. No opening times shown for cafe. Might only open summer time. We stayed one night. It is quiet at night with very few cars driving by.

Excelente!!!... muchos motorhomes se compañía. Noche tranquila. Fácil acceso. Super recomendable.

Nice place for the night. Many motorhomes and caravans parked along the beach. The place is alongside the road, but at night there is no traffic. There are picnic tables and a field where dogs walk. People come here to fish. The village is very close.

Stationnement très sympa en bord de mer, nombreux camping-cars et vans bien installés (auvent, barbecue etc..) sans problème (rondes de la police quand nous étions là : je pense que c'est plutôt le parking verbeux en amont qui est "no overnight") et pour les amateurs de pêche à pied, plein de coquillages à ramasser.

Très agréable parking en bord de mer, jolie balade et coin tranquille. Calme la nuit, bien que hors saison je n'étais pas la seule. Il y a tout de même un panneau au début de la route qui précise qu'il est interdit d'y dormir, mais ça n'a vraiment pas l'air d'être un souci.

Fantastic right on the beach couldn't ask for any more especially when it's completely free.Leysdown has a quirky feel about it too.
