I didn't stay. Very weird vibes. I'm a solo female, just didn't feel right.

  • 5/5

car park on the camel trail . spent one night here, I have no complaints at all . locals very friendly . dog walking area. The only thing that lets it down is the local kidswho turned up about 5 pm till 10pm , all sat smoking weed and playing music but did not bother us. when they left, they left all their rubbish on the picnic tables when there were 3 bins less than 6 ft away.

  • 1/5

Well what a terrible experience, like the other user stated about the music playing, we had 2 cars pull up at the side of us 1am in the morning, seemed as though by talking to another regular visitor to the car park it happens most nights as the young locals use this car park for meet ups. We asked them if they could keep the noise down but they threw cans at our camper van, never again, avoid.

  • 3/5

A warning to campers as a local. Until recently this car park has been used respectfully with limited numbers of vans overnight however its a small car park and numbers are increasing meaning that locals just trying to walk their dogs can't park. They have now started to photograph volumes and are reporting to the council. Today had 4 parked badly with a lot of angry people, if you see a few moveo

A little gem of a free overnight stop. Right on the Camel Way trail- perfect for a bike ride to Wadebridge and Padstow. Peaceful all night. Very friendly locals arrived early in the morning for dog walking but all were very quiet and respectful.

  • 4/5

Great little spot, tucked away in a corner away from wind. We were there on a Friday night, 2 other campers also there, many many teenagers arriving from 10pm in their cars. All keeping to themselves, but playing music and getting up to shenanigans. Most left around midnight. Nearest toilet at Sainsbury, 5 min walk towards the jail. Highly recommend cream tea at Miss V's Honey Street!

  • 4/5

Lovely place to park up, only 1 other camper there when we were. No noise all night (Friday). Lovely walk with the dogs however one did get a tick from the long grass!

  • 3/5

Access note - Enter/exit car park via road passed Bodmin Jail, do not come out of car park and take the road left, as leads to very steep residential hill and narrow exits. Smallish bumpy car park. 4 vans stayed. Close to big green park area, a few bins. Odd vibe, but place was OK. Plenty of local walkers. One man at 3am in park arguing with his dog, 745am car pulled in blaring music.

  • 4/5

Absolutely brilliant spot. Stayed a few nights. By a lovely park and close to walk to the town. Felt safe. Bins all around the park.

  • 3/5

Small car park, few pot holes to avoid. Seemed okay, but we didn't stay as only camper there and seemed a bit exposed but would probably feel safer with more campers. Right near Bodmin jail.

  • 5/5

small car park next to a park area. we stayed Sunday night (late February) and were the only ones there. very quiet, nice and flat. no facilities.

  • 5/5

Nice little stop quite peaceful. Sunday morning busy for parkrun starts 9am. Moved on before carpark got rammed

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Nice quiet car park . Had a good nights sleep . 5 vans motorhomes here . Felt sorry for one motorhomer . As he moved away from a van with kids . Then another one pulled rite at the side of him . With noisier kids . The car park is plenty big enough. Please be considerate and park away from people. I have 4 kids with me and did just that .

  • 4/5

Great free spot, park for kids just under the bridge, great for dogs…free and no no overnight notices

  • 4/5

Free, great for dog walking, no issues but was a little noisy on a Tuesday night. Lovely walk for dogs along the Camel trail.

  • 5/5

prima overnachtingsplek. Rustig gelegen. Geen hoogtebeperking, geen restricties. speelterrein voor kinderen, vuilnisbakken.

  • 5/5

Great stopover, especially if you have dogs, as it’s opposite a park, with just the Camel Trail in between. Our motorhome is 6m long and there was no problem accessing the car park, or parking.

  • 5/5

great place, very quiet at night but you're not out in the middle of nowhere so it feels safe. highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Second time we have stayed here. Two Motorhomes.

  • 5/5

Excellent free place. Very quiet night time. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Nice little park up a little road noise during the day but other than that it’s spot on 5 minutes walk to sainsburys

  • 1/5

nice pull in for smaller vehicles, shame about the human faeces that seems to be becoming a feature of these kind of park-ups, another way to upset local dog walkers and accelerate the demise of 'vanlife' in Cornwall. if you are going to park here, please don't park across a load of spaces and then get all your picnic furniture out.

  • 5/5

Was a great little spot. Was a couple of ‘visitors’ to the car park but they didn’t bother us. Free, close to everything and Great for dogs :) x

  • 4/5

Great spot for the night, 15 minute walk into Bodmin town centre. Left the van whilst we went to a gig in town and came back to no other guests who stayed the night. One 'short term stay' whilst we were there, which from reading the comments seems to be the norm for this spot haha

  • 4/5

We stayed here with our campervan after a Bodmin Jail After Dark experience. No toilets or facilities but it is only a 10 minute walk to a big Sainsbury’s. It was quite quiet at night and we didn’t have any trouble. Great if you are visiting the jail or want to go down the Camel Trail.

  • 4/5

Good level car park. 3 other vans there where we arrived. Spoke to a friendly local in the morning. Close to a little shop.

  • 3/5

Lovely little stop over. Great for cycling walking. Would definitely stay there again. No problems. Only bins available.

  • 1/5

Lovely car park during the day, but was a different story at night. Several shady rendezvous - had to move at midnight as it was scary. Would not recommend.

  • 5/5

Fantastic gem of a place to stop. No parking signs or signed restrictions. The Camel trail walking and cycling path next to the car park. Nice picnic benches to use. Bodmin jail attraction, Sainsbury’s and petrol station 5/10 mins walk away. A few cyclists and families walking past during the day. Feels very safe.

  • 4/5

Great spot. Spent one night, felt super safe with lots of houses around. Good location to walk into Bodmin and explore. And can get dominos delivered right to your door.

  • 5/5

Brilliant stay for 2 nights. No restrictions. Few Motorhomes also stay at night. Busy in day with cars and dog walkers. Nice scenery, good for dog owners. Close to sainsburys and also more just little further, lidl etc. car park is little uneven just go slow when entering but ok to park, pretty level. Access not too bad and I’m lwb.

  • 5/5

Bumpy car park, straight onto the camel trail or into Bodmin. stayed overnight. very quiet, no hassle. recommend

  • 3/5

Great for camel trail to padstow and back - didn’t stay overnight in the end.

  • 3/5

Busy at 3pm with cyclists and dog walkers. Returned at 6pm and parked up easily. Sainsbury’s handy for fresh bakery. JD Wetherspoons 15 minute walk uphill. We were the only van here and had a very quiet peaceful night.

  • 5/5

Stopped here last nite apart from frequently visiting vehicles until early hours it was a good stop
