(GL54) Winchcombe - back lane

We stayed 23 and 24 Nov. Friday was peaceful. Saturday night was marred by music from a car till around 1a.m, loud enough to be irritating, but not a direct threat. Winchcombe seems a friendly town, with a choice of eateries, good walks and a great museum. Car park unsuitable for vans 5.5m, unless you use two spaces. At 6m, we tucked into the corner. Try it again, perhaps not on Saturday.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Seemed great until 8pm when we had older teens to young 20 year old start throwing rocks at our van! Damage was done and sadly not caught. 18th Nov 23. signal is awful in the area too.

as described. it is behind a library, drive through the library car park, then down the side of the library and you are there. only two of the toilets were functioning. they were identified. an excellent place to park up for the night. sat nav got me there spot on. could not find any restrictions

Next to a school so very busy in the mornings and afternoons. Ignore your sat nav otherwise you end up going up a very narrow lane and risk getting stuck. No dedicated motorhome parking because it's not designed to accommodate them. Fine for sub 5m campers but we moved on.

Perfect place for a short stopover. £1/24hrs paid via app after arriving at 18:30. Short walk to the town, the pubs and museum. Very quiet overnight and in the morning. I stayed until 2pm so I could work from the camper before moving on.

Comfortable mid week overnight stay in this quiet car park… a very short stroll to the town centre. Toilets open - 20p coin. Like others have said … read the pay and display sign and get a ticket for a lazy morning ?

Easy access, larger than 5m park overhanging grass, quiet night, toilets 20p card payable (didn't use, being cleaned in the morning) amenities within walking distance, loads of walks around area, helpful tourist information office

Close to amenities, very quiet, toilet seem to shut at 7pm

Large car park. We used 2 bays & paid for 2 - £1 each! ? Peaceful night. Lots of room.

Great location for smaller motorhomes and campers. Vigilant attendants. Toilets.

Vorsicht große Wohnmobile, die mehr als einen markierten Platz zum Parken benötigen. Man muß für jeden belegten Platz einzeln bezahlen. Wer das versäumt, riskiert 70£ Strafe.

Clean, quiet, cheap, clean toalete, city walking distance. Perfect! Do pay at ex. 8 am, as they are checking... One pound is really fair price.

Stayed 1 night last week. Total cost £2. No problems. (Busy at school drop off/pick up time)

Good car park with access to toilets for 20p. We filled up an aqua roll multiple times to fill up water but you will need a rubber ended hose to fit on the taps

stayed a day and a night. Very safe and quiet. So many great walks a short distance away. Toilet facilities were not locked. Recommended. £1 per bay. Noticeboard says you can use 2 bays but must pay for 2, fair enough

Great spot I'm the centre of town. quiet area. surrounded by housing which takes away some aspect of privacy. facilities close at 6pm. as a family we felt safe, and were informed by the notice boards on what walks etc there are in the area.

Excellent parking spot. Flat and only 5 mins walk to village centre. Hard to get better in this area

Spent two nights/days here in December 2020. As described, no restriction on stopping, £2 all day til 5.30pm then free thereafter until then next morning. No charge on Sundays until after 12.30pm. Great location in the centre of town and Winchecombe is lovely. Had no issues stopping here at all, quiet at night although the carpark lights are on 24 hours so pick your spot carefully if bothered.
